If you decide to study off campus, you have many important decisions ahead of you.  This website should help you in this process.  When you finish reading it, you should know whether off campus studies is right for you, and you should be a long way toward choosing your off campus studies program if it is!

The Office of Off-Campus Studies (OCS) staff is available to help throughout this process. Off campus studies is not the right choice for everyone.  By doing some research and planning with the help of our staff, we can help you decide if it is the right choice for YOU.  Please come and see us!

Why Should I Study Off Campus?

There are many excellent reasons to study off campus.  Here are just a few.

  • 1) Learn a new language or improve your skills in a language you have been studying! Students in any major can benefit from knowing a second language, or even a third!

  • 2) Make your resume stand out from the crowd! Employers are looking for students with varied, interesting experiences. Many past off campus studies students have said that their off campus experiences were a focal point of their job interviews.

  • 3) Add a special facet to your Gettysburg degree. A study abroad experience can add an international focus to your degree program. Some students design a special major that includes a focus on a specific world region.

  • 4) Because you can! Gettysburg College is very supportive of off campus studies. Did you know that 49% of the Class of 2006 spent a year, semester, or summer on and off campus program?
